I'm not ready to test a collision, but for years I've driven very small cars. And the Smart driver sits so high that you have a great command of the road. I am the ideal Smart car driver as I work less than 2 miles from where I live, but I've been very pleased with its highway performance.

And, frankly, it's a blast to drive.

I wish there were more opportunities to test drive the Smart Car - I bet if more people experienced always being able to fit in the smallest parking spot or paying significantly less on gas, they'd be convinced to buy one. How is the gas mileage anyway?

With U.S. consumers finally moving away from gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs, smart car , a division of Mercedes Benz, has decided to debut the smart fortwo - a two-person car that measures only 8.8 feet long - in the United States.
